“The Young Leadership Council (YLC) announced the schedule for Wednesday at the Square concerts. The Radiators kickoff the series on March 30, and concerts run Wednesdays through June 15. The concerts generally feature two bands from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and there is an art market as well as food and drink available in Lafayette Square (600 block of St. Charles Avenue). Headliners include Trombone Shorty, Kermit Ruffins, Marcia Ball, Anders Osborne, Galactic and others. Full schedule after the jump. “Friday- October 8. 2010- Today’s Times-Picayune has a story about a bounce rapper who has become an “overnight” sensation despite being in the business for over 10 years. The same thing can be said for the soulful rockers, COOT. The band has actually been playing together for over 15 years. But beginning with a delightful opening set at the Krewe of MOMs Halloween Ball in 2008, they have gradually emerged as “ones to watch.” This month the band is on fire. Besides their first-ever performance at the Mid City club this evening, they are headlining their first weekend show at Le Bon Temp Roule next Saturday and they earned a coveted slot at the Voodoo Music Experience Halloween weekend. They have also been in the studio much of the summer recording their first album, which will be released in the coming months.
