Cold Steel was formed in January of 2005. After an EP in 2007 and a follow-up full length CD in 2008, Cold Steel retained Grammy-nominated veteran producer Tom Tatman (Stone Sour) for an EP. Release date was October 10th, 2009. "First Five", a full-length compilation CD, was released October 5, 2010 by Sweet Sounds/Republic Records.
