6th Annual Rising Stars. Come out and support local non-profit organizations and local music. 100% family friendly event. Many genres! Check the schedule online after September 5th! Rising Stars Music Showcase, presented by 94.5 K-Wine, Max 93.5, Mendo Lake Credit Union and City of Light Recording and Sound is a multi-musician, multi-genre music competition in which artists will be competing for prizes donated by the community while helping to raise funds for multiple Non-Profit Organizations. The 6th annual Rising Stars Music Showcase will be taking place October 5th, 2013 at the Redwood Empire Fairgrounds. up to 22 Musical acts will come together on one stage in a combined effort to raise funds for local non-profit organizations and raise awareness of the area's musical talent. The show begins at 12PM and awards are presented at 12AM. The community is encouraged to attend to support local music and local non-profits. There is a $7.00 gate fee and all proceeds from this event go to support our community. Various food and beverage vendors will be on hand at this family-friendly event to keep the party going all day long. The format is pretty simple. Each musical act is placed in a category with other similar acts. Each act has a limited amount of time to setup, perform and tear down. The backline equipment is provided, so setup is streamlined and each act uses the same basic equipment. This competition presents artists in the area with a means to perform for the public, exposes the public to a lot of the very talented musicians in the area, gives everyone an exciting fun-filled event and supports the community. Since its inception this event has raised over $15,000. The music is always awesome and everyone has a great time!
