Q: when it comes to song writing do you find that certain parts of the process (lyrics vs music) come more easily then others? Also, are there parts of the process that you enjoy more then others?
A: Great question, thanks for asking! For me, a key piece of lyric and music comes at the same time. Then I build off of it. I like the building part the best...because it allows me to get weird. I don't have a stereo in Thunderbone, so I drive around alot and play with different arrangements in my head. Sometimes, while I am eating pancakes, I get ideas, like "what if the band used a forklift to bring in a giant gong to sit behind the drumset, and then never hit it during the show, and then made a big deal of forklifting it out afterwards?" You could even put a picture of the silent gong on the album cover. Also, someday, I think it would be cool to start a song with a 4-count like this: Band Member 1: "One...Two...Five..." Band Members 2-16: "(Three, sir!!)" I am going to jump into the pool before getting to work, its 1:19p and in the 90s already...
