About

If you have never seen or heard Chatham County Line, then consider it an opportunity.  An opportunity to hear one of America's truly original and creative musical forces.  Appearances might tell you they are a bluegrass band.  In reality, CCL are pioneers of a sound that is in some ways traditional, but in others, totally groundbreaking.  Mandolins, banjos and Martin guitars are merely vehicles to propel stories and melodies to new places.

Frontman Dave Wilson is quickly being recognized as one of the most talented songwriters in all the world.  His songs bleed with emotion on topics that cover all facets of life.  In just one listen of their new record "IV" ,it becomes evident that Wilson understands songwriting on a level that few do.  Lyrics are poetic yet understated while telling stories of great effect.  Fellow bandmates John Teer, Greg Readling and Chandler Holt provide the solid foundation to build Wilson's visions.  Their care and energetic focus is something that has wowed audiences for over 5 years.

Their last project was recorded at Asheville's Echo Mountain studio, high in the North Carolina mountains.  Just like that place tucked high in hills "IV" has the warmth and tenderness of the country but the excitement and polish of the city.  Songs like "Chip of a Star" and "Birmingham Jail" are sure to become americana classics.

While having major success overseas and a solid following in the US, Chatham County Line is truly ready to stand at the forefront of the Americana genre.  "IV "producer Chris Stamey says of CCL,  "They've used bluegrass as a jumping off point, a vernacular through which to access all that is roots music, be that  gospel, country, rock or pop.  That's American music and they are an American band."
