Bio
Charlie has been playing and singing for as long as he can remember. Growing up the youngest son of a fire and brimstone Baptist preacher, he learned at an early age how music can move someone to “jump and shout and share the spirit.” He began playing guitar and started his first band in junior high school to perform at local talent shows and school functions and impress girls. Through the years he has played with several local bands, most of which played classic and southern rock as well as some country. His influences are the southern rock and classic rock bands of the seventies such as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bad Company, Molly Hatchet, as well as Bob Seger, Ted Nugent, Elvis, and Hank Jr.
About
Charlie Tatman is an entertainer from the Central Ohio area. Both his solo acoustic shows with his doubleneck Ovation and his full band shows are crowd pleasers. Charlie mixes classic rock and roll and country music into a blend of southern and country rock. He then adds a few jokes and creates an performance style that is sure to please no matter what size the venue. With songs from Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bob Seger, The Eagles, John Mellencamp, Hank Jr., and others, as well as his own originals, his playlist will “Take you back home.” They are songs you can sing along with and dance to.
His soulful, bluesy, whiskey soaked voice, git-r-done attitude, and “just one of the boys” personality allows Charlie to really deliver the goods on stage... Whether performing for a large audience or a few friends around a campfire, everyone has a good time at a Charlie Tatman show, especially him!
Charlie is well known in central Ohio and has performed at venues of all sizes there as well as in Nashville, TN. Equally at home as an opening act or headliner Charlie continues to work both as a solo artist and with his bands Triple Threat and Bad Influence
Charlie's self-titled debut CD was released in October of 2005, with Charlie performing all the instrumental and vocal tracks. His music runs a gambit of styles: ballads, straight ahead rockers, country and blues. These styles reflect the music that Charlie grew up with.
Charlie recorded his first national album in September 2006 at 16 Ton Studio in Nashville. Out in February 2007 on CMG-Nashville, Charlie Tatman's "Free & Easy" album is all about life and living from Charlie's point of view... He calls it "The soundtrack to my Life." We think you'll like it too!
