“When a local band decide it’s time to release a concept album split over three disks, you would be forgiven for thinking that they’re downright crazy. What you probably wouldn’t know is just how good Chamberland actually are. Empty Sun brings us Act II in their three-part concept, and it borders on perfection. The band’s ability to hang between metal and grunge is brilliant, as is the way they have structured the album. Each song flows perfectly into the next, while they all still have certain elements that let them confidently stand alone. Black Sabbath and Alice In Chains are the obvious influence, but both would most likely kill for the sound Chamberland have on Empty Sun. Listen to this, it’s worth every penny. Bring on Act III!
