Seven, aka Young Bunchy Carter, has been a force to be reckoned with on the underground Hip-Hop scene since his debut in 1996. As one-half of the NC duo The Nobodies, he has toured with and opened for some of the realest artists around including KRS-One, Queen Latifah, The Roots, Jay-Z, CNN, De La Soul and countless others. Described by some as an affluent blend of Nas, dead prez and The Lox, "street-hop" hasn't seen a phenom of this magnitude since Saigon first came home from the pen. But all the road work couldn't possibly prepare him for what was to come.

First, his name accululated major buzz in a hurry on the strength of an unprecedented 18 month run as freestyle champ of local Hip-Hop station 102 Jamz. After finally bowing out, he went on to conquer many of the most talented flowers in NC in a flurry of battles stretching from Wilmington to Boone. With the group also growing more popular by the day, everything seemed to be going as planned.

After releasing the cult classic Fables (Mends Recordings, 1997), the group encountered numerous snags while preparing the folow-up, Now Culture. Amidst label drama, mismanagement, creative differences and money issues, the MC's (Equinox and Seven) went their separate ways shortly after the album's 2003 release. Seven bounced around a while before finally finding a home with Nebulous Ent., where he performed head-spinning freestyles on both versions of the seminal Flood Tape series. Soon after, backed by the incredible beats of Devaron, he released the hood certified Da Wait Iz Over (Nebulous Ent., 2005). Featuring appearances from Supastition and P. Batters, the project sold modestly, mostly on the strength of the radio-friendly "Wrong". In an attempt to keep the momentum going, Seven pooled his own resources and released Soulja Music Vol. 1 in early 2006. 

Sensing a split with his Nebulous camp on the horizon, Seven did the smart thing and took several unreleased tracks (as well as some jewels from DWIO) and dropped the heralded Soulja Music Vol. 2: Da Declaration http://www.datpiff.com/Seven-of-Lost-Colony-Soulja-Music-Vol-2-Da-Declar-mid5441.html. The mixtape sold like wildfire across the country, cementing Seven amongst the elite MC's in NC and around the world.

Seven has aligned himself with underground stalwart label Domiantion Recordings and released the blazing new EP Ridin' High. WIth production from Midi.Marc, Keelay and DJ Forge, along with guest appearances from Equinox, Supastition and A.P., the project is a sure-fire sign that Hip-Hop is indeed alive.
