Bio

When The Britt Lloyd Band merged in 2003, the thirst for new, edgy, and intriguing music in Texas and the South was on the rise. Despite a market attraction to a mainstream sound across Texas, both rock and country music resided in TBLB’s bones, and the crossroad of the two served as a rendezvous point for the band’s gathering. Thus, the answer that so many looked for in a new and innovative sound found its home in the ears of a fast growing number of TBLB listeners.

Today, The Britt Lloyd Band continues to maintain a harmonious tie between country and rock, and continues to attract droves of faithful fans through both touring and radio. With the release of the debut record “Unlabeled” in early 2006, the singles “Chokin’ On Air” and “Day In, Day Out” have made leaps up the Texas Music Charts, rising to within the top third of the charts. The record was also ranked in the top 100 Texas Music Albums of 2006. Fans also have their opportunities to witness TBLB’s energy-packed shows at many major venues and events around Texas. New and returning listeners alike are amazed and wowed by the energetic sound that the group offers and they are quick to tell you that this group has just the right chemistry, and edge to entertain. Equipped with a commanding voice, catchy guitar hooks and riffs, and creative songwriting, Britt fronts an experienced ensemble composed of hard-driving, steady drums, technical and tasteful bass lines, and filling harmonies that will leave fans starving for the encore. Sharing the stage and working with artists such as Stoney Larue, Wade Bowen, Randy Rogers, Kevin Fowler, Charlie Robison, Phil Pritchett, Honeybrowne, Bleu Edmonson, and Mickey And The Motorcars, TBLB continues to put skins on the wall and establish itself more and more as a household name. With sweeping momentum, new sponsorships, and enthusiastic backing, The Britt Lloyd Band is quickly gaining the reputation and clout that guarantees them not to disappoint or lose speed any time soon.

About

The Britt Lloyd Band
“The Ink”
2008

The word “anticipation” is an understatement when referring to The Britt Lloyd Band’s second album, “The Ink”, set to be released in late summer of 2008. With the success of their independent debut record “Unlabeled” released in 2006, Texas Music fans are foaming at the mouth to get a piece of the group’s second offering.
“The Ink” is a compilation of new material written by the guitar slinging front-man. Co-produced with Adam Odor (Cross Canadian Ragweed, Reckless Kelly, Willie Nelson/Asleep at the Wheel), Britt takes the album a step forward in the singer-songwriter world that represents the heart and soul of Texas Music. This is the reason why they decided to name this album “The Ink”. There happens to be a song on the album titled “The Ink”, but that is not what gave their second effort its namesake. There is a theme to this album in a way that introduces the listener to Britt’s way of thinking when he writes a song. The ink that is laid down on a plain piece of paper starts a whole new world that includes putting a melody and solid sound to something that started with just a pen and paper and it is that ‘ink’ that begins the creative process, and transforms those songs into something material that you can hear and in a way, touch and feel. The band completes the experience with tasteful arrangements that will keep you anxious for the next track.
With the introduction of new members Jon Cearley (bass) and Steve Speer (guitar), the band is tighter than it has ever been with Thomas Van Arsdale (drums) once again driving the new songs with thundering beats. “The Ink” is a group effort when it comes to the musical production of this album. The drums kick, the bass moves and the guitars rock so that your ears cannot turn away.
With the pre-release to radio of the hit song “That Kind” up on the charts, it is easy to see that this album doesn’t mess around. The Britt Lloyd Band is here to tell the world that they are here to stay and plan on making their logo imprinted permanently on the state of Texas and its notorious music scene.
