I've been writing since the late sixties but only released my debut album "Vergions" produced by Karl Odlum 2010. It consists of 16 poems put to music by a variety of wonderful musicians. It is available on iTunes at http://www.itunes.com/brendanhickey. I do occasional gigs with my band Bren's Launch Crew

“Review of “Vergions” by Brendan Hickey Dublin Poet & Radio presenter

I was never a man into poetry, yes I’m a shallow fish.
Having received a copy of Brendan Hickey’s debut album “Vergions” released this year, I have changed my mind. Maybe I have matured, people who know me will be glad to hear that.
My friend informed me that Brendan has a weekly show on DSFM www.ontheverge.ie where he brings in unsigned acts to promote their new material etc… and he has done this for a number of years.
Well it’s time Brendan gets some kudos, for a change, for this brilliantly written & produced album of poetry accompanied with some nice music.
“a tear displays her need for him..” taken from “She wont call” track 5 on this excellent album of sheer beauty, and elegance with a tinge of darkness, from a well read Dublin poet. This time, instead of giving the accolades, he receives one from me.
