About
Brandon Thomas...My musical accomplishments are directly attributed to every step that I ever took. I, like most musicians, have been in several bands and jammed with more than my share of true musicians. I have played many shows and performed with many great musicians in a very short time. I am grateful for all the opportunities. In 2007 alone we have played in a VH1 “Save the Music” tribute show, 2 killer shows in Austin during SXSW, played with Tobe Champagin at the St. Arnold's Brewery for a sold out film festival and I released my first album "Life After You". I am currently on a solo tour of China with 16 dates in three weeks time starting in Hong Kong on October 10th. I also worked with Warner Brothers’ producer Mike Diesel on Mike Jones' new album. I'm in this for life, so it's easy to stay focused. No regrets and a promise to stay original. Come see me live and you'll know what I mean. My story begins in North Texas. Born in Ft. Worth and raised in a small suburb between Denton and nowhere called Keller. My first instrument was, (don't laugh), the clarinet. Luckily, it only took me two years to figure out that the clarinet wasn't exactly what I was meant to play. At age 15 I found the guitar or rather it found me. I tinkered around with no formal "training" to speak of. I taught myself by listening to my favorite bands and other music of the time including Metallica, Pink Floyd, the Offspring, Zeppelin, and Collective Soul. It wasn't until just before my 18th birthday, when we moved to Houston, that I got serious about making music my life. My first band, called Morning Wood, was a cover band. We did cool covers for our high school friends and fun was had by all. Then I graduated from Cy-fair High School, moved out of my parents’ house, moved around, wrote music, then came back to Houston and started playing with an original modern progressive band, Perpetual Motion Theory. We freakin’ rocked as shown by our big win in a Battle of the Bands competition at the Engine Room where we beat out 80 other bands! You may still be able to find some old recordings and videos floating around somewhere on the Internet. After 3 years of rockin’ with PM Theory and finding the right girl at the wrong time, I moved on to pursue my own musical endeavors. I wrote and recorded my first album fueled by the most painful loss of love I have ever, and will likely ever, experience. I was blessed enough to have recruited some of the most amazing musicians that I have ever heard -- Mark Dini on guitar, Ken Mondshine on sax, Kevin Berry on drums, and Bob Russell on upright bass. Playing at this level of musicianship really inspired me to shape up and form a live groove band. Since then I’ve jammed with many talented artists, and now have a trio with whom I am very proud. I can't wait to see what's in store next! Stay tuned cause it's gonna be good!
