About

Boris T. Blackwood is a drummer who loves all there is about drums and drumming.  Having played with many different bands, with some a single show and others over a span of time which seems to be a lifetime, Boris simply loves to play.  Many comment on the energy that is projected from the stage.  And others can see the passion that has developed over many years playing many different styles of music.  Boris' playing is simply something that must be seen and heard.

Boris' recording experience started with his first rock band Athan Asia from which he was a member from '90-'97ish.  Athan Asia recorded 5 albums (cassette & CD) of which Boris contributed to 3.  The track "Right Here Jones" is from their last CD, Alchemy.

From there, Boris joined a group called The Faith which later evolved to become Screwtape Lewis of which he contributed to one of the three recordings entitled "The Opulent Hum" from which you can hear the track "Sex + Jazz + Alcohol".  Screwtape also demo'd material for a soon to be released album, "Ways To Self-destruct".  The jazzed up version of the Northern Pikes song, "Things I Do For Money" didn't make the cut.

Boris took some time to tour and record full-time with Alberta born and raised blues-rock guitar player Carson Cole.  The track "Satisfaction" is from a live CD called Naked which was recorded on New Years Eve of 2000 at Bud's on Broadway in Saskatoon, SK.  The energy of the show was something that didn't translate to studio recordings and the Naked album was an attempt for people to take some of the live experience home.

Boris continues to record whenever possible and the tracks "Head We Go To Memphis..." & "Any Color You Want" come from the latest Fat Dave Crime Wave album.

The newest track to be added to the resume, is a nice, folky tune by punkster Liam Harvey Oswald.  The track "Don't Deny" has just the right touch of light percussion and snare drum to make this ditty bounce along.  To quote Boris, "This song makes me happy".
