Rhode Island’s Bob Kendall Band and Mark Cutler’s Men of Great Courage to play Beatnik’s 433 Park Ave Worcester, Ma. Friday Jan 19th. 9pm- 1am. To the New England music aficionado, the name Bob Kendall may strike a few chords with you. He’s the founding member of the bands Lifeboat, The Blood Oranges, the Brothers Kendall and Labor Pool. Throughout the years, Kendall’s bands have shared the stage with many bands including; REM, The Replacements, Gang of Four, Billy Bragg, John Doe, The Feelies, The Psychedelic Furs and Jim Lauderdale. He released his first solo record in 2002, “Enough is Enough”, and played the Newport Folk Festival the year Bob Dylan returned. Mark Cutler is a singer/ songwriter/ guitarist from Providence, RI. He has shared the stage with such acts as Bob Dylan, Warren Zevon, Little Feat and was founder of Boston band 'The Raindogs' and RI band 'The Schemers'. Mark now performs solo and with various outfits in the New England area. His music can be dark and jangly, delicate and then rocking. He will play anywhere people want him to play and sometimes even where some folks don't want him to play. Both artists have recently released recordings on 75orLess Records. Cutler’s “Sweet Pain” has received national critical acclaim and has been listed on the top 10 of 2012 in numerous publications. Kendall’s, “Midnight Flower is particularly beautiful and haunting which features the haunting and ethereal background vocals of Tanya Donelly (Belly,The Breeders,Throwing Muses).
