It all started with the question of JK to wright a monthly column for "Lick, a touch of Blues", Hollands most populair bluesmagazine in the 90". After organizing a lot of bluesfestivals it was time to move on to...Portugal.

is a tradename of Bluesbarn Promotions.
Bluesbarn Alqueidâo is surrounded by a beautiful landscape, close to the cultural city of Tomar and just minutes away from lake Zezere. Soon we will open an Artists Holiday Resort in the heart of Portugal. In other words; a Recording studio with Bed & Breakfast, close to the geographic middle point of this historical and cultural country. We think our location is the ideal spot to enjoy an inspirational vacation for musicians and artists. Combining a holiday in our B&B with composing, playing and recording your (acoustic) music, makes it ideal to bring your partner or family. This website is made, to give you an idea of what we are working on, and what services we will present in the near future.
Our (recording) studio is build specialy for acoustic instruments. Recordings can be made on a 16 track analog recorder or 32 track digital. We do have many years of experience in acoustic music, mostly life recordings. We believe in 'naked' music, without to many interfearing by digital equipment. On the player of Reverbnation below you can hear some examples. Artists we worked with are mostly singer/songwriters as Waymon 'buttermilk' Meeks, Martin Hutchinson, KC & Son, Thad Beckman, Robert Burton Hubele, Lance Young and Bas de Haan.
Casa Agradavel is a house at Vale da Pereiro in Alqueidâo, Portugal.
Casa means house in Portuguese and Agradavel means cosy/sociably.
At Casa Agradavel it's always sociable and you'll find are for reflaxion and rest, but simultaneously for music, art, sun and pleasure. Small-scale and back to basics is the idea, but or with modern comfort.
The Bed & Breakfast ' apartment ' exist from a small living, a two person sleep chamber and bathroom with toilet. The total surface is 28 square meters. The apartment is on the topfloor of our (recording) studio, and stands apart from the house and has its own entrance.
From the apartment and from the terrace you have a fantastic free view over Vale da Pereiro (the valley of the pear trees). From Casa Agradavel you can make walks in free nature, even Rio do Zezere is at walking distance, but it wood take about 25 minutes. With the car are you within a couple minutes at several beaches at the river, surrounded by superb rock parties and a sumptuous fauna.

The apartment is attractively decorated. In the living you find a TV with a vast collectie dvd's and an audio system. You can use (if required) a computer with Internet connection.
