Violin/guitar duo with vocals 

Specializing in Django/Grappelli style Gypsy Jazz, this versatile duo perform many styles of music. Acoustically they play Classical, swing, instrumental pop and Irish. They use backing tracks for Jazz standards, Swing and all the old favourites.

TOMMY LOCKE (guitar) studied at the Ulster College of Music in Ireland. In over 30 years in the music business he has been involved with most styles of music, numerous bands and many commercial recordings. He recently performed and recorded with the esteemed Louis Stewart. 

LESLEY LOCKE ( violin/vocals) studied at Trinity College of Music, London. She has freelanced with many orchestras throughout the UK and Ireland. She was with the Dennison String Quartet for 25 years and is currently playing with Aphrodite Strings in Cyprus. She has made many recordings and performances for TV and Radio; most notably playing with Vanessa Mae live on BBC 

BLUE JAR first performed at garden party for HRH The Prince of Wales. Since then, they have performed throughout Europe, including Womex and The Marbella International Film Festival, Spain; MEI, Italy; and toured Denmark alongside Peter Gabriel and the Gypsy Kings. They have 2 albums released in the UK, USA, India and the Middle East whilst signed to WOA Records.

They have been in Cyprus since Feb 09 and have performed in The Capital Coast Hotel, The Elysium Hotel, The Amathus Beach Hotel, The Athena Beach Hotel; Artio, Goosefat & Garlic, Colisseum I and II, Brahms & Liszt restaurants, The Prince Pub and the UKCA Club; they have also performed as part of the Music in the Mountains programme.
 

WEDDINGS: For the ceremony Blue Jar perform acoustically with traditional wedding music – Pachelbel's Canon in D, Wagner Bridal March, Mendelssohn Wedding March etc, but also have a wide range of more contemporary music – Elton John, Eva Cassidy, Queen etc. They also arrange special requests.
 

For the cocktail reception Blue Jar can perform a selection of styles, but their smooth jazz/bossa nova set seems to be very popular.
 

DINING: For approx the first hour of dining Blue Jar plays acoustically. This is usually a selection of Classical favourites, gentle jazz standards, Irish folk ballads and instrumental pop. Throughout dessert they play more upbeat jazz and swing using backing tracks, and can perform music to dance to, when required.
 

EVENING SHOW: lasts up to 3x45min sets. Perfect to add class to any bar or lounge! A mixture of well known swing and jazz, suitable to dance to, or to just sit back and have a quiet drink. Set list includes Frank Sinatra, Billie Holliday, Gershwin, Duke Ellington and many more. If desired they also have 60mins of Irish music, both folk and contemporary.
