About Beatnik Turtle
Beatnik Turtle is a horn-powered rock band that has produced eighteen albums (including one live album), written music for TV, film, podcasts, and theater, has written books for musicians (The Indie Band Survival Guide & The DIY Music Manual) and has written and released one song for each day of 2007 at TheSongOfTheDay.com, where they continue to release a new song each week. Armed with a sense of humor, their music is fun, upbeat, and energetic alternative pop rock.
In August of 2008, St. Martin's Press published the book, The Indie Band Survival Guide: The Complete Manual for the Do-It-Yourself Musician which was written by two members of the band - Randy Chertkow and Jason Feehan. In February of 2009, Ebury/Random House will be publishing a tailored version of the book for worldwide release under the name, The DIY Music Manual. The books are practical how-to books aimed at musicians like themselves who wish to take their music into their own hands, without a label.
