“Josh Gellman picked up a box of 100 CDs yesterday and let out a sigh of relief. The express post package arrived within 24 hours of his band's CD release party going on tonight at the Queen's Hotel. The eight-member band is the brainchild of Niall Harvey, the primary songwriter who provides most of the vocals. Phil Hamelin composes most of the horn section. The rest of the group then contribute to fine tune the groovy sounds that fuse latin funk, reggae and jazz. The group got together at Lee Billwiller's EP Studios and put together their first album. Three horn players hit one room, while the rhythm section of bass, drums and keys gathered in another, allowing them to perform together for most of the recording. "That way we were able to capture the live essence of the group," Gellman said. "We wanted to record everyone all at once for the majority of, if not all of the songs." ”
