AZMYL YUNOR & THE SIGARETTES No strangers in the independent and underground gigging circuit, folk rock outfit Azmyl Yunor & the Sigarettes are one the few rare local acts of their generation who love their twang and country-fried yearnings with a dash of street-smart wit, courtesy of their troubadour frontman Azmyl, a stalwart of the local singer-songwriter scene. With the Sigarettes steered by Raje on drums, Keng on lead guitar, and Mustaq on bass, you can expect some toe tapping roots-rocking bliss of their original songs along with thoughtful re-interpretations of popular songs. With praises like "absolutely glorious anthemic folk rock" and "a bona fide winner" heaped onto their the acclaimed 2012 album "Wilayah" by the local music press, these journeymen wear with their hearts on the same sleeves they wipe the sweat off the brows with after each gig.
