Bio
Austin Donohue, a NYC based composer, songwriter, & producer; creates music that is passionate yet thoughtful, raw yet polished, solitary yet global. From the simplest love song to a sprawling cinematic composition, his work is imbued with a complete awe of the universe & an obsessive desire to understand the forces at work within it.
About
Born in the picturesque Appalachian mountains of Virginia, Austin grew up fascinated with 50s & 60s pop music, the grunge era, and cinema. Before re-locating to New York City, he attended The North Carolina School of the Arts Conservatory where he studied filmmaking and music, adding a distinct cinematic quality to his work.
His music has been heard in the feature films Hooligan and Dead Anyway; on ESPN, NASDAQ, Blogspot Radio, and Filmspotting; and in documentaries for The Save Darfur Coalition, Scope Art Fair NYC, and Antistrot (Sara Tecchia Roma New York).
Austin is currently working on a solo EP, co-producing the debut record & playing guitar in THE DIVE, & playing lead guitar with Deni Bonet.
