Bio
Aura Azul is a Puerto Rican based heavy metal band founded by Hommy. Originally the band was formed in 1993 under the name "Prowler Wraith". Due to musical difference it was inactive for almost a decade and it came back stronger with a new name: Aura Azul.
Raul, one of the co founders was back from Iraq, reunited with Hommy and Aura Azul emerged into the metal scene in 2003; bringing new ideas, security and a positive energy.Their influences were great bands like Iron Maiden, Lizzy Borden, Helloween and King Diamond. They have powerful and controversial lyrics written mostly by Hommy, who gets inspired by social and religious themes. They recorded their first demo in 2004.

Aura Azul is still going strong and played a number of shows with well known metal bands from the island; like Dantesco, Fast Taker, Pacto de Sangre and Athaxia.
Since August 2009 the band has been working with their first full length album in Southground Studios produced by Hommy. It combines Edgar's ominous screams with booming drums and melodic yet aggressive guitar parts to generate an album packed with sludgy anthems. It has standout tracks like "Maestro de la oscuridad” and “Faraon”. They were featured as one of the best Puerto Rican bands in the “Compilación Deathfrog vol.III” CD created in Death Frog Studios with other great acts like Infectoria and Ongo.
Aura Azul goals are to spread their music all over the world and get signed with a well known record label.
The band is a proud member of the P.R.M.A(Puerto Rico Metal Alliance)
