All Things Considered was formed in the summer of 2007 by long time musical collaborators Emma Johnson, Adrian Holden and Phil Daniels. Having been part of the atmospheric rock band Ecouté for 4 years, and plying their trade all across the South East of England – musical tastes mellowed and it was decided by the trio to work under a new guise and perform a much more stripped down, acoustic based style.
Various songs were written with this style in mind, and the name decided on before auditions started to take place. Having had a number of fairly unsuccessful sessions with various instrumentalists, double bass player Jim Dytham was hunted down, and although living miles away decided to commit to the project. The band gigged as both a 3 and 4 piece for a few months whilst still on the look-out for an elusive 5th member.
That position was finally filled in April 2008 when violin player Gethin Webster came on board. Gethin was at that time playing with highly rated singer/songwriter Susie Clarke, but the lure of another project was too much to resist and after 1 full rehearsal ATC gigged for the first time as a 5 piece.
Having played many gigs since then around the South East and London, ATC were forced in to their first line-up change in August when Jim left the band. This large void (a double bass is massive) was filled by ex Ecouté bass guitarist Ben Halls on acoustic bass.
With Ben now fully involved in the set-up, the band are looking to continue forging a reputation for themselves on the acoustic scene. With plans for a couple of tours next year and with the first full album to be released early in 2009, it should prove to be a busy and highly productive time.
