About
Aruba Red
"Political soul with strong reggae, dub & hip-hop undertones
pushing a message that we should all take notice of"
Aruba Red released her independent self-titled debut album through AWAL and received rave reviews on iTunes. Her collaboration with award winning multi-instrumentalist Nitin Sawhney "Last Train To Midnight" received regular airplay on BBC Radio 1 & 2 and her track "Struggling" which features reggae star Jah Mason reached the top 10 playlist on Irie fm in Jamaica. Aruba Red recently opened for Soul II Soul at Wembley Arena and has toured with artists including Fat Freddy's Drop and Natty. It is her fusion of styles that has impressed audiences from Glastonbury Festival to Abbey Road Studios and by merging her impressive vocal skills with hard hitting lyrics, she made a big impression at the Love Music Hate Racism Carnival. Aruba Red has residency at London's Southbank Centre as well as at London's Roundhouse with her own innovative new music night 'Strange Brew' which she hosts and co-produces. This is fiery, intimate rebel music.
