In 1985 the 3 founding members started jamming in a small apartment near San Jose CA. Wayne, Bruce and Greg (Luke) would play into the wee hours of the night usually upsetting the neighbor below them. The neighbor's anger usually culminated in repeated raps into his ceiling with a broom stick. Soon other musicians were enlisted as the group slowly grew. The band moved on to other jamming venues. One trademark issue for this band was that they always ended up with too many guitars.
A little over 15 years ago, Wayne and Bruce moved to the suburbs of Portland OR and quickly began a new chapter of Bozos. In the time since, the Portland Band has grown from a few guitars to 8 members, complete with keyboards, percussion and a full horn section. The idea of playing for fun had great appeal and seems to lend to the longevity of the band. Now with members spread across the country the tradition an annual Bozo reunion has taken hold. In the 25 year history of the band, we have experienced the sad loss of a couple of bozo brother players mixed with the joy of children who contribute to our musical diversity. We joke a lot about how bad we can be and at times it was no joke at all. But overall we've become very tight and have found we can play just about any style of music. And that's so fun. That's why we do it. We're not best band you've ever heard. We don't need to be.
"Play it Anyway", because we're all Bozos on this Bus.
