Acoustic fingerstyle guitarist, Ben Lapps, is a young and energetic addition to the new music world. Picking up his first guitar at age 12, Ben soon began writing his own music, and released his first album, The New Color, at age 14. Inspired by acoustic guitar icons such as Justin King, Michael Hedges, and Thomas Leeb, his music is truly unique – beautiful to listen to and mesmerizing to watch. After first seeing a video of Justin King playing “Square Dance” on youtube, he began his fingerstyle career. Since then, he has been performing all over Cincinnati at various restaurants and many of the local festivals, and has traveled as far as Virginia to play two Christmas shows at the Homestead, and Kansas to participate in the 2008 International Fingerstyle Guitar Championship. In early 2009, his debut album was released on the international level in countries such as Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan. Currently, Ben is working on new material for his next album.
