The nucleus of THE QUORUM was formed in 1996 when drummer Wes Wright answered an ad posted by guitarist Jason Watson at a community college. Realizing they both had a love for the same bands and music, the two hit it off quickly and a search for an able bassist began. Jason suggested bassist Brad Clemmer, another kindred spirit Jason had met while they both took music classes at the same community college. The three began writing and rehearsing immediately and from the start, it was apparent that there would be no limitations on musicianship or creativity. After an intense period of writing and recording, the trio decided to take a break and pursue other endeavors. Bassist Brad Clemmer decided to do some road work with bands like Gunshy and travelled all over the U.S. Guitarist Jason Watson became a side-man to a few solo artists and toured the Southeast. Drummer Wes Wright filled his time writing and gigging with band Mind Walk. Time passed and Jason decided to put together a band that covered all the music that was missing from the local scene. Missing the camaraderie he shared with Wes and Brad, he called them up and everyone agreed to begin working immediately. The new band was christened "THE QUORUM" and debuted in the spring of 2006. A frantic pace of rehearsing and touring began. In the last 7 years, the band has played over 500 shows and continues a cycle of rehearsing, writing, and touring. Occasionally, a 4th member has joined the band but at present, THE QUORUM is a trio. The QUORUM continues to tour throughout Knoxville and surrounding counties as a cover band with the widest range of music from the 70’s to today.
