Brandon Marceal is a force to be reckoned with on his flute. This freelance flautist is creating quite a buzz by presenting a refreshing and soothing voice to Contemporary Jazz, Hip Hop, Gospel, Funk and Rock. Having dedicated decades pursuing a pure passion for his instrument, Brandon Marceal has now mastered using intonation to make the flute a voice for his personality. This expertise has audiences exclaiming, "That's one SOUL-ROCKIN-FLUTE!"
When Brandon Marceal plays flute, he creates a connection to the soul. The tone heard with every fluttering breath is enchanting and mesmerizing. Whether playing a cover tune or an original composition, each song is infused with a spirit and passion all its own. While most hear and see the flute being used as a doubling instrument, Brandon plays the flute exclusively and aggressively. His variety of soulful melodies induces an invigorating yet calming voice to any musical composition.
"My sound is therapeutic. I tailor my melodies with honesty and clarity. I close my eyes and trust my feelings”
Reminiscent of the unorthodox introduction of the flute into mainstream music in the 70s and 80s by Jethro Tull member, Ian Anderson, and fellow flutists, Bobbi Humphrey and Hubert Laws, Brandon is now in 2015 again bringing this instrument to the forefront with awesome improvisational skills that permit him to play within any genre. Marceal refuses to be placed in a box. This is evident in his self-recorded and self-released promotional CDs “The Flute Remixes Vol. I - Body & Soul” and "The Flute Remixes Vol. II - Hits". Volumes I & II incorporate an extensive range of his talents over popular radio hits. These CDs are reminiscent of the Hidden Beach Records "Unwrapped" volumes. Marceal's latest project, "Everlasting Peace," is just that. His soothing and comforting flute takes you on a journey away from everyday struggles. Through a few of gospel's more celebrated hymns, such as Yolanda Adams' "Open Up My Heart" and Kirk Franklin's "Help Me Believe," he brings you to a more relaxed and peaceful state of mind.
With over 20 years having past since blowing his first notes on the flute, Brandon has been performing for audiences from local elementary schools to national television shows. Some notable venues are the Word Network's "The Lexi Show," CBS’ “Better Mornings” and the annual Sweet Auburn Festival in Atlanta; his last song placement was in the Universal Pictures international theatrical release, Idlewild. Rapper Nicki Minaj has recently taken notice of Marceal's awesome improvisational/"freestyle skillz," having named him "Best of the Bass" after singling him out of thousands of submitted videos. Brandon’s talents extend far beyond performing; he's also a composer, arranger and songwriter. Brandon Marceal's true passions are creating beautiful music and performing!
