GLEN ROETHEL is a reluctant refugee from San Diego, California now residing in Westchester, NY. His roots, therefore span the US countryside from an early age, and his daily reflections reach from yogis in ashrams to homeless people on Madison Avenue in New York City. An accomplished musician, Glen wanders along a diverse musical path from contemporary folk to alternative rock and everything in-between, but most folks appreciate that he is a singer-songwriter with a penchant for positive intentional lyrics, a devout music community builder and co-creator of AcousticMusicScene.com, a passionately-in-love husband, and a generous, welcoming performer.
Glen's songs have been heard on nationally syndicated commercial, college and international radio, and on TV. His production credits include two full-length CDs of his own (From Beginning to End, 2004; Smaller Things, 2008) one for his folk-rock harmony trio, Gathering Time (Songs of Hope and Freedom, 2008) and vocal/guitar/lyric work on projects for many other esteemed artists. His 1998 release with GUSH on Indigo Records still enjoys radio airplay at U.S. college radio stations. Glen is currently working on three new releases for the 2010 season.
Glen is a spontaneous performer with a reputation for group play-alongs, sing-alongs and improvised songs, and he is a favorite guitar coach and workshop leader at music conferences and at Summersongs and Wintersongs (summersongs.com - songwriting and performance camps for adults, with sessions in NY and California).
