From the very heart of the World Heritage Listed Blue Mountains National Park (Australia) comes the moon-dance tree-dreaming voice of Rachael Brady.
Country, soul, bluesy with a whole lot of heart, there's something about Rachael's music that urges you to fall slightly more in love with each listen.
Inspiring, inspired, loving, nourishing, her lyrics are all at once strong and vulnerable and her music has been described as having “genuine depth, beauty and intelligence.” She explores her fears and joys with vigour and irreverence, personally taking you by the hand and showing you who she is…sometimes funny, sometimes strange, a little bit kooky, always oddly beautiful.
As cosy as a candle-lit hollow in an old mahogany tree, she has one of those voices that makes you want to crawl inside of it and sit curled up in its tender warmth…traces of gruff couple with humble gymnastics to surprise in a shivery-down-your-spine way.
Shunning the offer of a small record deal with an Australian indie label in 2007, Brady has opted for a more autonomous approach to her music, independently funding three albums; "Peace by Peace" released in 2006, "Somewhere Sunshine" released in 2008, which were both recorded with producer Paulie Bromley at the helm, bass player for *ARIA award winning Australian bands "george" and more recently, "The Beautiful Girls". A 3rd album, "In Case of Falling" (May 2013) was partially fan-base financed via the crowd funding platform "Pozible.com" and recorded in the picturesque Blue Mountains, west of Sydney, where Brady makes her home.
She and long time guitarist/collaborator Nigel Kerr have consistently toured their home soil over the last 8 years as well as the USA and she enjoys a loyal global online following.
Brady also enjoys a parallel career as a successful photographer whilst also juggling the task of mothering her 3 children aged 5, 6 and 16.
