Trevor Borden / Bio
Born in Kenya, East Africa, Trevor Borden was raised in the bush, an isolated
setting that may be the single most influential element to his craft; besides cultivating an idyllic, unadulterated, free childhood, it encouraged sincerity and transparency, along with a good work ethic. His musical pursuits began in High-school when he moved to Lisbon, Portugal. Playing electric guitar in the requisite garage punk band that every budding performer must belong to for a time, Trevor got a taste of the stage in the underground Portuguese rock scene. In 2007 Trevor made another continental jump--this one landing Trevor squarely in the golden light of southern California. The next several years were essential for Trevor as he came into his own as a musician and songwriter. It was during this time that he led his college band, The Way Much, on a 28 state tour and started a smaller side project – The Sounds of Lyon Fell. Both were a step closer to his current solo endeavor. Giants, released January 6th, 2013, blend the intimacy of Trevor's honest songwriting with the energy and power of a full band.
“What sets Borden apart from his contemporaries is also what makes Giants work so well. Rather than flooding the four-song EP with overwrought harmonies and sing-alongs, Borden spends most of the record alone at the mike, and his booming and gravelly voice is perfectly suited for this type of music making.”
