Ordaine is an aggressive, heavy metal band, reminiscent of thrash bands, but with clean, melodic, thought provoking music composition and impeccable execution.
Ordaine is constantly writing new music and rehearsing for their premier album "Into the End" to determine what will make the cut while eagerly awaiting the finish of the studio's development.
Our current line-up is: Jon Curtis – lead vocals, audio engineer and front man; Neil Morrow – lead guitar; Dustin Setler – rhythm guitar; Pat Knots – bass guitar; Brandon Moats – drums.
How it all began
In 2007, Neil Morrow and Jon Curtis, a CRAS trained audio engineer, met while living in the same apartment complex in Tarzana, California. Each would hear beautiful, brutal and tasty licks being played through their windows — the beginning of Ordaine.
About a month after deciding to put something serious together, Jon talked to his good friend Dustin Setler about moving out to California and trying to make something happen with their music. Dustin hopped in his little red truck and drove across country.
The band moved to Bakersfield, CA to be able to afford a home together where they could concentrate on melding their styles and creativity to create something that people could move to, feel, sing and scream along to; and to enjoy their music the way that they'd always enjoyed all of their favorite bands.
A drummer was added and the band was set, or so they thought.
Shortly after, Jon and Dustin departed for West Virginia due to well being of family members; and the band took a spin for a few months. Upon arriving in WV, Jon and Dustin sought out Pat Knotts, a former band member with Jon and Dustin's previous band Pre-Mortal, to play bass.
Ordaine began to revise old songs and take a serious look at the direction of their music. Neil Morrow, who had stayed in Bakersfield rockin out, was talked into moving to WV to take on the heavy lifting of Jon's lead guitar parts which would free Jon up to be the front man the band needed.
The only void to fill at this point was drums; and they didn't have to go far — just down the road was Brandon Moats their beloved tattoo artist and MMA trained drummer.
