Musically, Ken is mostly self-taught. However, he learned jazz harmony/theory from Peter Nero and Lee Shaw.

Lyrically, Ken has had the benefit of direct mentoring from Sammy Cahn, Mel Tormé, Marty Panzer, and Stephen Schwartz. He is currently involved with the Academy of New Musical Theatre's Core Curriculum Workshop. He has a bent for writing comedy tunes. It's either a disease or a blessing. The jury is still out.

A lifelong learner, Ken has earned three master's degrees, two in education, including one from Harvard University, and an MFA - Creative Writing from National University.

One of his passions is helping people get from where they are to where they want to be. Recently, he added himself to that list. Ready or not, here he comes....
