“A voice of gold” is how Swansea’s Evening Post defines Singer-Songwriter Caroline Harrison.
Originally born in Kent, it could have been a very different musical story for Caroline but a family move to rural West Wales in 1997 went on to help shape what looks to be a very promising career in music.
Growing up listening to The Mamas & the Papas, Dusty Springfield, Dionne Warwick and many more it is evident that this era has very much inspired her own sound.
Having one of her songs successfully placed in a Brazilian Soap Opera series led on to securing a Publishing deal with Peer Music in November 2010 and since then she has traveled extensively gaining much credit as a Songwriter globally.
Over the past few months Caroline has continued to build on her ever increasing fan base playing a number of successful sets on both London’s Acoustic circuit and across the UK. She has been recording her debut EP out in Stockholm with the acclaimed Peter Kvint behind the production.
Her debut Single ‘Beyond the Darkened Sky’ is set for release on June 17TH.
The forthcoming release has been gaining much momentum with over 70 regional Radio Stations in the UK and Europe getting behind the single including BBC 6 Music & BBC Radio Wales.
Her debut single has been A-listed on Radio Pembrokeshire, Scarlet FM, Radio Carmarthenshire & Radio Ceredigion and she has now been named ‘Welsh Artist of the Week’ by BBC Radio Wales the week of the release.
She explains; “I am delighted to be getting the support from Radio at this early stage with very little promotion, Radio Wales have been particularly supportive and as my music has been written and inspired by living in West Wales, it is a perfect start for me”.
Caroline was invited to perform live for the BBC Radio Wales Music Day and has also been supported by BBC Introducing after recently being invited to take part in the BBC Introducing Master Class in Cardiff.
Caroline has recently opened for Charlotte Church and Jodie Marie on their recent Welsh tour dates and has just returned from a very successful 8-date tour of Germany supporting Livingston. She is also embarking on an acoustic tour of Ireland in September and will be supporting Texas at their Smooth Radio showcase in June.
Caroline's debut single Beyond The Darkened Sky is being played on over 170 UK radio stations, with support from Smooth Radio, 6 Music and many more also being made BBC Radio Wales Welsh Artist Of The Week for 17 June 2013, the week of release of her single.
Her debut EP is released on June 22nd and the single is now available online.
