The “Swell Daze” sound is a crisp three part harmony-driven blend of classic and modern rock. The band maintains pop sensibilities while staying true to their rock and roll roots. On their debut album, the band draws influences from artists across multiple genres and decades. Swell Daze crafts a signature sound with strong lead vocals, melodic lead guitar solos, and a tight and intricate rhythm section. Their live shows are explosively energetic, however the band portrays the cultivated class and distinctive stage presence you would expect from seasoned veterans. Since 2011, the band has been gigging relentlessly in the mid-atlantic region playing festivals, bars, and private and charitable events. Live, the band prefers to play cuts from their debut album, however they also draw from a repertoire consisting of over three hours of classic and modern covers.
What's New with Swell Daze:
Several songs from their self titled debut album have been used in episodes of "Best Ink" on the Bravo, Oxygen, Universal and Cloo TV networks.
Their song "Hooked" has been used extensively by the Discovery Channel on episodes of "Saint Hoods" and "Gold Rush the Dirt".
In 2013, Swell Daze won Empire's Mid Atlantic Battle of the Bands, an East coast competition featuring over 90 bands. After the win, the band hired platinum record producer Jim Ebert, platinum record sound engineer Sean Russell, and renowned mastering engineer Vlado Meller to cut their first full-length album “Simple Fix".
Swell Daze’s 2012 self titled EP received moderate recognition nationwide. The album, which was a DIY effort, charted in the top 200 for National College Radio for over four weeks. The album was licensed to multiple TV networks including Discovery Channel, E!, O, VH1, NASCAR, MTV, MTV2, and Tony Hawk’s Ride Channel on Youtube.
Swell Daze was also sponsored by Red Bull Soundstage in 2012.
