Twenty-eight year old Sam is a Georgia native who first jumped onstage at age four... and hasn't gotten offstage since, really. She spent her childhood performing all over the southeast, in show choirs, musicals, bands, and solo gigs for former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue, and even in the shows at Six Flags Over Georgia. In 2008, she joined forces with producer Jimmy Byrd, Brian Harrison (Shelby Lynne/Lucinda Williams) and musicians Brian Owings (Emmylou Harris/Buddy Miller) to hit the studio for her first set of original recordings.
Sam moved to Nashville in 2009, and continued to pursue her musical path and craft her sound. She frequents writer's rounds and also belts as a backup singer and session vocalist in town, having performed with pop and soul singer Daphne Willis, Award-winning Christian Contemporary artist Francesca Battistelli—she’s even been lucky enough to share the stage with John Oates from the legendary pop duo Hall & Oates, who collaborates with her good friend Willis.
Sam also moonlights as a nationally-syndicated radio personality for CMT Radio, and was recently profiled in Country Weekly magazine. Sam was also featured in US Weekly Magazine and TV Guide as one of the red carpet’s “hot looks” from the 2012 CMT Music Awards.
You can usually find her writing, singing, hollerin', Sunday driving in the Jeep, eating queso dip, and listening to Patty Loveless. She'll head into the studio in 2014 to work on a brand new EP.
