Formed in 1999, L.E.S. members have drawn on their extensive experience to build up a musical project that combines rock (Dream Theater, Iron Maiden, Pink Floyd) with ambient (Brian Eno, Vangelis) and soft electronic dance (Jean Michel Jarre, Enigma, Massive Attack).
Strong soundtrack influences are widely recognizable in their first work “Scene”, some kind of a trip through mind and feelings. “Scene” ends with a 15 minutes long composition in which the band approaches the typical soundtrack/horror atmosphere.
Written and entirely home produced in 2002 (thus partly penalized by the quality of the technical equipment), “Scene” tangibly demonstrates the possible combination of guitars and electronic compositions: the classic rock of “Libertà” and “XX°” perfectly blends with the soft atmosphere of “Creatività” and “Bianco e nero”, through the ambient connective tissue that links the different moments of this CD.
2003 is the year of “La mia immagine”, a cd of “real songs”. The soundtrack/ambient element is less detectable here and the focus is mainly on the composition and on the arrangements. Twelve tracks in which vocals are very prominent and tell several stories about love and emotions through the lyrics by Michele Ermini. A major change in this respect too.
In the 2004/2005 biennium L.E.S. compose, arrange and record a new album with the intention of publishing it not later than 2006.
The temporary title is “Les3″.

Sms by Michele Ermini: “I’ve had an idea for the cd. A man kills his girlfriend and commits suicide. Then a journey of atonement and awareness begins, leading him to reincarnate several times (one for each song on the album). Nice, eh?”
That’s how “Les3″ became “Metempsicosis”.
Unfortunately some work and personal problem slowed down the production process which eventually lead to a complete stop for a long time. Metempsicosis is a concept album made of complex tracks that need care and attention to details. There was no time to focus on editing and years went by…
We can stop here: 2013 and L.E.S. completed “Metempsicosis”. In our opinion (biased and unreliable) this is our best work and we want you to listen to it. More than anything else WE want to listen to it. It’s always been that way: we have always done music because we like listening to it and we write it just the way we like.
We’ll be glad if you enjoy it.
