77 BOMBAY STREET consists of the four brothers Matt, Joe, Esra and Simri. Together with two more brothers, a sister and their parents they grew up in Basel Switzerland where they also attended school. As youngsters their mother sang songs together with the whole family which they performed at different occasions.
From 2002 to 2004, the whole family went to Australia where they lived at 77 Bombay Street, Adelaide. Upon their return to Switzerland they moved to Scharans, a village in the mountains. In 2007 they formed the band 77 BOMBAY STREET.
The band has been surprised by the speed of their career. In February 2008 they gave their first live performance at a band contest. The reactions were overwhelmingly positive. Soon after, they were booked all over Switzerland. In 2009 they played 50 shows and won the “Kleiner Prix Walo” and the “Mycokemusic Contest Switzerland” - two important national awards for newcomers.
Everyone is inspired by their music, which reminds some of the British group ‘the Beatles’, but with a fresh touch. It will be exciting to watch 77 Bombay Street in 2010.
