The Tragic Clowns / Bio
The Tragic Clowns emerged out of the short-lived but highly influential Death-Folk movement that swept through the Northern California music scene at the turn of the millennium. This was a chaotic but extremely creative era, marked by the participation of other celebrated acts as well, most notably Phlogiston and Loops spooL. The Tragic Clowns trace their lineage back to the now defunct and constantly lamented Bay Area band, Mobius Strip. Comprised of three siblings, the T-Clowns have played music together for their entire lives, and have finally narrowed their collective focus enough to have recorded their first album, "Try This At Home!" Early reviews have offered comparisons to the Beatles -- beloved by all three Clowns -- "London Calling"-era Clash, and various artists primarily associated with early New Wave, such as Elvis Costello and Squeeze.
