La Corriveau is a heavy metal band from Québec City formed by Marc Légaré (rhythm guitar) and Xavier Alvarez (drums) in the spring of 2008. After several line-up changes including members from well-known local bands like Never More Than Less and Sons of Disgrace, the band’s current line-up is completed by Diamond Ghost (vocals), Tim G (bass) and Jasper (lead guitar).
Although the band’s name and imagery is based on a local true tale about a murderous woman hanged for the killing of two of her husbands and subsequently exposed in a cage as an example, the subject matters explored by the band are wider and include hate/love relationships, mystical beliefs and life after death.
The band just finished recording its first album entitled Soul Possession which will be released independently February 11, 2012.
