Doublespeak writes songs rooted in rock, folk, rhythm and blues, alternative, and pop. Their range goes anywhere from a delicate ballad, to a hook-laden, sing-along jam; and everything in between.
Whether they're playing full band, or an acoustic set, Doublespeak always entertains and brings their passion.
Cameron Martin and David Velasquez, longtime friends, began writing together in 2009. Although both fronted other bands, they decided to make their collaboration permanent after several weeks of successful writing sessions. They formed songs that are relatable and representative of the passion the duo clearly convey in their recordings and live set. Catching local musician's ears, the two were soon accompanied by a rotating backing band of up to six players. Hard working and focused, Doublespeak has a penchant for writing meaningful songs while maintaining a pop sensibility.
Doublespeak has recently released their Together Tonight EP and are looking for label support. They have worked with professionals such as Ferret Records, Corey Spotts, Dave Nichols, Dan Tomlinson, Ray Riendeau, Jefrey Taylor, and Roger Seibel.
