Travis Richmond / Bio

Travis Richmond got his first guitar on his 12th birthday, began writing his own songs at the age of 14, formed a band by the time he was 17 and hasn’t looked back since. Influenced by the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Steve Earle, Chris Isaak, and The Rolling Stones, he took his idea of American Music to the streets. While serving in the US Army, Travis spent his early years playing the local club scene of Alabama, Georgia and his home town of Oklahoma City. After returning home from military service he was promptly recruited into a successful “Nashville” act. It was there that Travis truly honed his craft. He started his own Mainstream project in 2004 and took it running in the Texas music scene. Counting himself “blessed” to have performed with some of the greatest National and Regional acts such as Dwight Yoakum, Pat Green, Craig Morgan, Restless Heart, Jason Boland and Cross Canadian Ragweed, to name a few, and experiencing commercial radio success with songs such as, “Abilene”, “When We Were Young” and “Whiskey Isn’t Workin’”, he chose to drop out of the “Big Show” lifestyle in 2007 to concentrate on his heartfelt songwriting. Spending the next few years behind an acoustic guitar, performing solo, he had the chance to slow down a bit, to share the stage with performers that no one had ever heard of, some of which have become his best friends. He also met his wife, Casey, while laying low. After the birth of their son in 2009, Travis felt an intensity to get back to work with a band. But he knew the new project had to be not only special, but truly his best work so far. He has hand picked his favorite session players from the years passed to prove that Southern Rock, Country and American music are not dead.
