“Today I have some good psychobilly from Germany. A Pony Named Olga arrived in my P.O. box, and I have to say that I did not know about this band before the CD arrived. That being said, it’s pretty good stuff. One song that really caught my attention was “Ponykaravane.” This grabs my attention not just for the tempo and amazing instrumentation (all three of these guys will get you moving in this song), but also for its overall feel. It sounds like a collaboration between a psychobilly band and a gypsy punk band. No, I’m not kidding. “Til You Die” is another good tune. Heinrich Heimpel growls the vocals in this song, and while it is loud and raw, it also has the ability to get people swinging on a dance floor. Call it punkabilly. Call it psychobilly. Either way you’re on the right track. No matter what you call it, this has plenty of swing and plenty of raw rock and roll rooted in rockabilly.
