Al was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago and started playing guitar at an early age. Early influences include The Allman Brothers Band and Bob Dylan, and of course, the blues. His current song writing incoporates a wide variety of influences and styles including folk, alternative, country, blues and jazz.
