We are very honored to again host the Grassy Hill/Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk winners. Each year, hundreds of singer-songwriters from around the world enter this contest. The entries are narrowed down to 32 finalists who perform at the Kerrville Folk Festival, and six winners are chosen. Past winners and finalists have included Lyle Lovett, Steve Earle, Shawn Colvin, Slaid Cleaves, Robert Earl Keen, Jr., Tish Hinojosa, Nanci Griffith, Lucinda Williams, and more. As you can see, this group represents the cream of the singer-songwriter crop. Performing in-the-round will be: Nicolette Good, Whit Hill, Korby Lenker, Alicia McGovern, and The Sea The Sea. Edie Carey cannot participate because she is spending time with her new baby. Come early (6:30) to participate in the annual St. Andrew’s Chili Cookoff. Simply taste as many of the entries as you like, and then vote for your favorite. Vegan and gluten-free options will be available. The winner will be announced sometime during the show. $15 suggested donation includes both the chili and the show, but no one will be turned away. All proceeds go to the performers.
