Aiti Maa was a Toronto based act and featured Caroline Spence (now of Caroline Spence Band AKA Crimson Star), Colleen Gray-Lynch, David Lynch, and David Drake.  Past members included Mike White, Greg Hyland, Jo Dagulo.  Visiting members included Olaf Alders and Mikhial Gurarie.

Inaugural members included Tuija Kala and Gwen Brown - back when the original intent of this project was to be an exploration in sound, poetry, drumming and women's voices.  It soon progressed into a folk act, which progressed into a full-on band as people joined the project.

The band took an infinite hiatus when the core members decided to pursue other life interests.  Caroline Spence continued with music and has a new act, Crimson Star (Caroline Spence Band), based out of Victoria, BC.

Note from Caroline:

I always loved the Window Seat album.   It was a labour of love for all of us.  While it was being recorded, we did some soul searching and we knew we'd all be parting ways to follow other interests before the album was even released.  After the recording was completed, I decided to move back to Victoria from Toronto to write songs and develop a new music project in my home town.  Our beautiful CD sat on a shelf and was sad.  So after a year, I decided to release the songs that I sang on (with everyone's blessing), as the 'hello' EP - and the start of a new project, The Caroline Spence Band (AKA Crimson Star). All of us worked together on ALL of the Window Seat songs, the culmination of many years of creative inspiration, performance and fun creative times together -- creating what you hear here.  Colleen did some stellar songwriting work on 'Portugal' as well.  Enjoy! :-)
