“Things have been pretty quiet in ScarCrown's house since the 2005 demo EP release "til the Last Breath". Now,armed with a new contract through Deadsun Records, comes "Letters from the Darkness". A brand new, fulllength,CD with various flavors of extreme, goth and classic metal. The sophomore effort clearly brings a more mature, powerful and aggressive sound. The dual backing vocals of Andrea and Blackie and the powerful, operatic voice of lead singer Antonella are reminiscent of fellow Italian rockers Lacuna Coil. However, the sound and originality of the music are pure ScareCrown. Furthermore, in comparison to the demo EP, the male vocals are much stronger and the guitars are heavier and more aggressive which benefit the tonal quality of "Letters". Overall, "Letters from the Darkness" should secure a promising future for ScareCrown and confirms the resurgence of the powerful Italian metal scene.”
