In April, longtime members of the CT music community, Mark and Barry Easton, lost everything in a tragic fire. The building, their studio, was burned to the ground in a matter of minutes, taking with it all of their instruments, stage gear, studio equipment, and most importantly, all of their 40+ years of master recordings of all of their original material. We are trying to help rebuild and replace everything they lost, which totals into tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of dollars. Every penny from this, and other benefit shows to follow, goes directly to the rebuilding fund. Expenses are being handled by three of the benefit administrators. The show (the first of several across the state) will take place at Hammer Down Bar in Manchester. Admission is $15 per person or $20 per couple. This IS an all ages show. The bar will be offering reduced prices on select drinks and raffles will be held. You will be able to come and go as you please for the one admission price, so you can leave for dinner and come back afterward for more great entertainment, which will include some of CT's finest, most talented players, both individual and full bands in an open jam format. Musicians wishing to play that day should contact one of the admins so that you are not charged for playing, however, if you wish to make a donation in whatever amount you choose, it will certainly be welcomed and appreciated. More info about the entertainment will be available here as we get it, so keep an eye peeled for that. We hope to see MANY people support these gentlemen who have meant so much to up and coming musicians all across the state. The Hammer Down is located at 485 Hartford Rd. in Manchester. This is an all day show with bands performing during the early half of the day and an open mic the second half.
