"Inverticrux are a delight for my tastes, especially how they bring the spirit of dark metal to life, conjuring dark moods and bring you a wide range of styles to match it all. You can get the album through Exalted Woe Records and I suggest going out and doing so immediately. You won’t be disappointed. "

“. This band play a raw mix of black metal and doom sinister metal, but man!! They really make me feel darkness and gloom. The vocals are excellent and no more to ask. Mr. Raypissed screams and sings in a very high range very influenced by Merciful Fate and includes this “dramatic/theatrical” touch Mr. Diamond patented in the middle of eighties.”

“Guitarist Terry Savastano, formerly of noteworthy agglomerations such as Disrupt, Grief, Warhorse, and Superpower, fronts this band, previously doing business as Vintage Flesh. Musically. The extraordinary thing about this collection is that there seems to be a real sense of compositional ingenuity and even an attenuated melodicism.”

“As I said, Inverticrux surprised me in a good way right from the beginning. The music hit me in the face so to speak. First attention goes to the singing of RayPissed which is something of a combination of Venom’s Cronos, Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson, Volbeat’s Michael Puolsen, Glenn Danzig and King Diamond. Needless to say, it is just awesome. At times RayPissed snarls, growls and screams his lungs out, at times he goes higher (that’s when I think of Bruce Dickinson). RayPissed isn’t the most talented singer but I get the feeling that’s not the point either.”

"The first song Virgin Reaper starts on a very sombre note then blasts into some quite punky but metally rifts and beats." "Cautionary tale is like an Iron Maiden epic but starts with guitars and a harmonica...whoa" "Azreal Beckons My Name gives very much of a haunting feel in music and vocals it has great chugging but yet melodic guitar riffs..." "To Serve that Dark Design is an amazing track starting with a bell tone then heading straight into a well put together heavy metal track." "Hurt Shores is a very heavy punky track... It is a great end to the album as a whole I feel." "If you like bands like The Misfits then give this album a blast..."

Berni Samson - RockSound

"The band brings influences from traditional metal, Black metal, a bit of Goregrind in the vocals, and a couple others as well..." "If you want to hear an album that's does a pretty interesting job vocally. I'd recommend checking this out."

New Hampshire. - The Hippo

"...they're rocking their concept to its fullest extent. It's an odd result, and one that somehow works." "Stylistically, the tunes on Virgin Reaper are an amalgam of metal-related musical genres utilizing elements of Crust Punk, Death Medal, and Power Metal, all painted over with a crimson coat of King diamond." "Ravenous Monster covers horror no matter which media delivers it and Inverticrux’s willingness to send us a demo to review speaks volumes about what it is they actually do." "Stylistically, the tunes on Virgin Reaper are an amalgam of metal-related musical genres utilizing elements of crust punk, death metal, and power metal, all painted over with a crimson coat of King Diamond. These guys pile it on, from eerie piano and creepy church bells to a crying baby and over the top, horror-infused vocals and voicing." "Drummer Michael Bernier keeps it simple and tasty, finding the pocket and staying in it, thereby optimizing the effectiveness of the infectious riffs. Raypissed, the group’s most assuredly insane front man, bellows out an eclectic mish mash of vocal styles awash in reverb and eliciting old school chills by recalling the vinyl and tape compilations of yore that went by names such as Haunted House Sound FX and Spooky Sounds." "...don’t hesitate to track down Inverticrux.

"A song like Lured By The Scent of Infant Blood really shows what he's capable of and the band is certainly at their best on the track as well, delivering some very melancholic doom metal." "If you want to hear an album that's does a pretty interesting fusion of genres while being rather theatrical vocally, I'd recommend checking this out. Overall Score: 7 Highlights: A Cautionary Tale, To Serve The Dark Design, Lured By The Scent of Infant Blood"

"...I must say I do love the backing growls and you hear the Kiss esk vocals ringing in the background." "...takes me back to my youth in the 90s with a mixture of aggression and passion in the music and vocals." "Mr Dead-Spider Gates is a great old school death metal sounding track, I really love the vocals on this track. The accompaniment of the backing vocals which sound like a demon popped in to lay them down on the recording of the album. It has great sounding bass lines too on this one." "Hurt Whores is a very heavy punky track which come through quite strongly very much in the way the vocals are sung, the sounds of the guitars and the bass but yet the drums are quite thunderous. It is a great end to the album as a whole I feel." "Inverticrux will appeal to hard-core metal fans and maybe punk fans alike thanks to the various elements which seem to manifest themselves..." "If you like bands like The Misfits then give this album a blast..." "I give Virgin Reaper 7/10..."

"...one of the best independent black metal artists I've heard in a long time."

"...this deadly combo delivers pure black metal & their trademark would be that it’s done using very slow tempos that could put them sometimes into a kind of “Doominess” where they sound pretty obscure and depressive. To complete this concept, we have the intelligent use of certain clean voices pretty dramatic that sounds like continuous mournful lament of pure decadence."

"The self-released debut by this New Hampshire band never becomes redundant or repetitive, using as many black metal approaches as necessary, and making even the clean, non-black parts fit inside the whole."
