Monte Pittman was born a Scorpio on November 19, 1975, in Longview,TX. He first began playing guitar as a teenager with the help of his teacher, Robert Browning, and also took music theory and piano lessons from Delores Rhoades. In 1996 he started his first band, Myra Mains, a heavy metal band who got compared to the likes of Pantera and Fear Factory. Shortly after their second album was completed, Monte moved to Los Angeles to sell guitars in 2000, and found with the number of people asking for suggestions for guitar teachers, that it would be more lucrative to give guitar lessons himself. Almost immediately upon relocation, he began to work with legendary pop artist Madonna, and has over the course of his career worked with artists such as Prong, The Citizen Vein and Adam Lambert. His first solo album, The Deepest Dark, was released in November 2009. With it’s mellow acoustic sound, and his smooth and heartfelt vocals, Monte delivers the 11 tracks with an intensity not often heard in today’s music. The album was written entirely by him, with the exception of “The Circle”, which was co-written by Adam Lambert and Tommy Victor, and had been previously recorded by The Citizen Vein. In Fall 2009, Monte joined Adam Lambert’s live band, and has accompanied him on appearances, international promo shows, and live concerts. During Adam’s international album promotion at the beginning of 2010, Monte played acoustic gigs in the cities they were in to get his own work heard to audiences hungry for new and original music. Currently, Monte is the musical director and lead guitarist on Adam Lambert’s Glam Nation Tour, and working on a follow up to The Deepest Dark. Monte Pittman is endorsed by Orange Amps and plays Gibson Guitars.
