Young Thunder, born Tylen Fowlkes on March 21 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, is an independent artist, author, and content creator whose career reflects an ability to evolve beyond any single creative lane. Beginning with music at a young age, he performed in talent shows and showcases throughout the Midwest while developing an early understanding of grassroots and street-level promotion, networking, and the business behind building an independent career.

His journey took an unexpected turn in 2004 when, as a teenager, Young Thunder survived a near-fatal gunshot wound to the abdomen. Multiple surgeries and a six-month recovery followed. The experience gave him an early understanding of resilience and the value of time, lessons that would later influence the discipline behind both his creative work and professional pursuits.

At sixteen, Young Thunder released his debut album, Born to Kill, in 2006. As his artistic vision matured, he later revisited the project and removed records that no longer represented his standards. He continued expanding his experience by working with producers and engineers across the United States and internationally, while developing relationships and opportunities in markets including Texas, California, and Las Vegas.

In March 2011, Young Thunder reached a notable career milestone when his work appeared on WorldStarHipHop, expanding his visibility beyond his regional audience. His career continued across independent media, radio, and television. Following the release of his single Living, he was interviewed on radio in Los Angeles and later appeared live on KTNV ABC 13’s The Las Vegas Morning Blend, where he discussed his music, brand, and professional direction.

Beyond music, Young Thunder founded Street Philosophy LLC, a marketing and branding company that grew from his experience in street-level promotion, adapting that foundation to the modern landscape of branding and digital marketing.

Young Thunder has also expanded into publishing as the author of Heights of Potential and Phant0m St0rm. The move into literature represents another stage of his creative development, extending his work beyond music into original storytelling and intellectual property while maintaining the independent approach that has defined his career.

Today, Young Thunder continues to build across music, publishing, content creation, and branding. Rather than allowing one title to define his career, he continues to evolve while maintaining a consistent focus on ownership, creating work with lasting value.
