Bio: About The Festival of Eugene ~ Join us! Come and dance, sing, listen to music and have a jolly fun time! Express your creativity and flair at this anything-goes event! The Concept ~ "I, Krysta Albert,am the owner of the Health and Wellness Celebration which was a part of the Eugene Celebration. It was with great disappointment that it was cancelled, but many of my vendors wanted to have it anyway.... so as a collaborative effort, Jaime Baker of Baker Events originally partnered with Krysta Albert of Imagine! Events and creating an alternative....The Festival of Eugene!" AND THEN ~ Join us! Come and dance, sing, listen to music and have a jolly fun time! Express your creativity and flair at this community-based event! Our goal is to have a festival that celebrates our local Eugene community, supports small businesses, is fun and FREE! Artisans and vendors who are selling anything have a vendor fee, others are free to have a presence. There is no financial compensation to any participant. We want to create an event that celebrates and rejoices in the diversity of our community! ALL monies received from this event go directly back into the event. The money raised specifically for performers will be distributed evenly among the groups. OUTCOME ~ Krysta AlbertFestival of Eugene Yesterday at 08:14 · I have gotten so many "thank you's" that I want people to know... I had the IDEA of the Festival of Eugene but if it were not for the tireless hours of work by these talented people, it wouldn't have happened. So, from the start to the end: Jaime Baker started with me but was too busy with her real job to continue. Jackie stepped in and took her spot helping get bands committed. Anand Holtham-Keathley was our community Liason who developed relationships and won us the Non-profit status through Eugene Neighborhoods. Evan, let us use his restaurant for meetings in the beginning- Porcellino Bistro. Jon Silvermoon helped us get the $1k grant from Country Fair. Stephen Buettler helped motivate me and better understand logistics. Josh Goldfarb was in from the start and hung on through all of it! He got the Ninkasi sponsorship of $1k! Max Williams came on to help with sponsorships and advertising. He got us the $2,500 grant from Frontier Airlines and Eugene Airport as well as lots of support in exchange for advertising. Then Jon Silvermoon came back in the picture when Jackie had to leave for 12 days and took the bands all the way from confirmations, booking, scheduling, contracting, getting all the equipment DONATED (whew, yes! I said all donated!) to setup, and stage management. He and Chris Farrell were amazing to get all of the band stuff accomplished because, well, I know NOTHING about love bands! LOL Sue helped with stage management during the festival. Tana Paige worked as my tireless assistant both days from beginning to end. Am I missing anyone? Basically THESE people made the Festival of Eugene... I was the mouth and often the motivation but it was their efforts that made it happen. ALL 22 of the bands and performers are SO incredibly appreciated. Those bands all played for FREE... so to them I bow my hat and say "Thank you".....
